Award Redemption Tickets for 2, but charged only one

I booked roundtrip flights for 2 people using Asia Miles. I paid taxes and fees for both tickets.

Both got ticketed and when I checked with their customer service line, both were in fact "confirmed". I also checked the status online (via online check in), which also indicated as "confirmed". Based on that, there is no doubt that the passengers of both tickets will be able to fly. Or won't they?

    Here's a concern (probably):
When I logged in to my account online, I can only see the confirmation of one passenger and I was only charged for miles enough for one person in a roundtrip journey. Can this be a problem at the airport?

I would definitely not be comfortable with this. I'd call back and explain and get things resolved before the airport.

Assuming you booked both passengers on one record and paid using your own AsiaMiles, I would definitely make a call to them to sort it out.

Do you have eTickets for both people? I would call and as for the ticket numbers for both passengers, and insist that they be emailed to you. That's probably a better way to start the process than trying to explain it yourself -- let the rep look at it, if there's only one ticket number, then they can research, etc.

It's not unheard of for miles to not be deducted correctly, though it's generally fixed eventually. But I would make sure you have the full eTicket confirmations.

Thanks for your responses. I followed Tiffany's suggestion. I called them up, told my membership number and asked for the etickets to be sent via email. I didn't tell how many and who the passengers were, but the representative asked if I was asking for the etickets of Mr. X and Ms. Y, and that was right! She sent the etickets to me.

The etickets say that they are just itinerary summary and that they do not constitute ticketing. I clicked on the manage reservation link in the email and the page that I was redirected to indicated that the status of both itineraries is "ticketed".

Do you have the eTicket numbers as well? They should be 13 digits that start with 160.

Once you have those I'd stop worrying, as those reflect ticketing and your purchase agreement with the airline.

I'd leave the miles for the second ticket in your account just in case (don't use them for another booking). That way if a flag does go up at some point it will be easy to fix.

Just want to make an update on this. Both passengers were able to fly roundtrip without any problem at the airport. :)
